Social City Networking has had the privilege to connect and collaborate with some pretty inspiring and amazing organizations and individuals. With our focus being COMMUNITY, we provide opportunity to expand your personal and professional networks by providing continuous up to date information about interesting events, causes, organizations and businesses in YOUR CITY. It has been our great pleasure to attend and experience Wanderlust Festival in Whistler BC., where Eoin Finn is participating and sharing his Blissology yoga and mentality!
Blissologist, surfer and master Yogi, Eoin Finn, created a movement called Blissology which is the art of tuning into the force that makes us feel connected to each other and the planet; and using it to guide us so that we achieve our own goals while minimizing our impact on the web of life.
We like Eoin Finn because of his positive involvement with Vancouver’s community – may it be through the practice of yoga, workshops, mentorship, or just conversation; Eoin Finn supports and encourages the “bliss” in all of us. We had the privilege to connect with him to find out more about what inspires him, and what community and being SOCIAL in our CITYmeans to him:
SC: Describe what community means to you in one word:
SC: What about Wanderlust attracted you to participate, and how do you feel it benefits the community?
Eoin: There are 4 essential elements to a joy-filled life: Yoga, Nature, Community and Dance. It’s key to all that I teach and Wanderlust has a healthy dose of all of them!
SC: What is one major lesson/learning you are taking away from this communal event?
Eoin: Life is short so celebrate it. Why bob around when you can surf!?!?
SC: Why is community important to you (personally)?
Eoin: Because we need to feel a part of something larger than us but we have created a world where we feel a part from it. We are taught that selfishness will lead to Bliss, but this is only one type of Happiness. The greatest happiness is getting in touch with a force called love and letting it flow through you. That is the essence of living in community.
SC: What is a personal experience you have had where social networking has benefited you?
Eoin: I’ve seen photos of people practicing to our Blissology videos and know that my passion for lighting a fire in people’s hearts is working. It gives me the fuel to keep going.
SC: What is some advice that you would like to share to aspiring community leaders out there?
Eoin: Take time to get still in Nature. It will fuel your heart and strengthen your connection to world around you. Trust that actions motivated by love are truly the most powerful.
SC: What is your socially conscious contribution to your community?
Eoin: Karma Yoga – running events to send musicians to [perform in] prisons, to treat the oceans with reverence, to send kids impacted with HIV/AIDs to camp. These are some of the big things but mostly, it is the day to day interactions and really taking the time to connect with people that count. Actions generated with pure intention go a long way.
