#SOCIALintheCITY covers Current Swell LIVE at The Commodore Ballroom, Vancouver

Current Swell with Social in the City / May 10, 2014
What a fun evening out in Vancouver last night! It’s been a while since I’ve hit the town in Vancouver and I am glad I made it out last night to see Victoria’s finest Current Swell. I’ve been a fan of these guys for a few years now, hooked after I first heard their song, Young and Able. They really epitomize BC’s West Coast. The crowd also resembled this feel – laid back, island living, creative bunch. The show took place at the Commodore Ballroom which was completely full and served as the perfect venue for this event- great sound and spacious.
Current Swell put on a great show, playing several news songs from their album released this past Tuesday, Ulysses. The crowd went wild when lead singer swapped his acoustic guitar with a lap guitar!
It was a pleasure spending the evening with SOCIALintheCITY. As I mentioned before, I don’t make it out too often in Vancouver, but when there is a talented local band in town it’s well worth getting geared up and heading out for a good dance! I am a big fan of The Peak and it really makes me happy to see their efforts to support local talent come to fruition. Current Swell was one of the first winners of the Peak Performance Project and today they are touring internationally with massive fan bases around the world. Yahoo to supporting local talent, building community and celebrating the Arts- go Vancouver.
