SeaWheeze Half Marathon 2014
Tomorrow in Vancouver!
If you haven’t noticed the overwhelming amount of people toting lululemon outfits and products, then be prepared to have Vancouver packed with lululemon enthusiasts from all over the world tomorrow. SeaWheeze 2014 is probably one of the most anticipated and epic half marathons the city has ever seen – with approximately 15,000 people ready to sweat and filling the streets of Vancouver with enthusiasm, athleticism, and brightly colored running outfits.
What is SeaWheeze?
The SeaWheeze half marathon is 21.1km (13.1 miles) of epic sea, sun, and smiles along with tons of yoga and a concert in one of Vancouver’s best parks. Start time for runners is 7am, with cheer stations located throughout the marathon course, where you can join in on encouraging and celebrating your loved ones in their efforts.
Not only does SeaWheeze cater to those who like to sweat on the regular, but it also has the biggest after-party of the summer for runners and non runners alike. Branded as a “yoga.run.party.”, SeaWheeze is taking over the weekend with exclusive festival markets, beer and wine gardens, bike valets, community connection, live music and celebrations. The official after-party is called Sunset Festival.
What is Sunset Festival?
This year’s Sunset Festival is already a after-party that you don’t want to miss. This celebration is offered to both runners and non-runners. It’s a evening prepped for live music (headliner is Capital Cities, with opening act The Colourist), outdoor yoga at sunset led by Eoin Finn, tasty food and a brew (or two – let’s be real, you just ran a half marathon).
What’s happening at the Sunset Festival?
- sunset practice led by Eoin Finn for you and thousands of your new friends (don’t forget your mat!)
- you and your buddies dancing the day away to our headliner Capital Cities (check out their newest single “One Minute More”) and opening act The Colourist
- a licensed patio and gourmet grab-and-go food for purchase (it’s important to refuel!)
- stellar sunset views overlooking the Pacific Ocean from Vancouver’s iconic Stanley Park
SeaWheeze 2014 is presented by lululemon, and it’s purpose is to create and celebrate community, yoga, and running. Want to check out the official SeaWheeze hub? Head down to Vancouver Convention Center where you can find snacks, beverages, shopping, complimentary outdoor yoga, lounge areas and much more! Get #SOCIALintheCITY with us, and 15,000 people!
The Sunset Festival will be held in the heart of Stanley Park at Brockton Fields on Saturday (TOMORROW), August 23.
How should I get there?
There’s no parking at the Sunset Festival so driving is s a bit of a buzz kill. Better options include:
- Walk with a pal
- Cycle – check your ride at the bike valet
- Hop on a complimentary shuttle from the Vancouver Convention Centre
Sunset Festival Schedule
